Troop 149 Philmont Scout Trip
by Fred K.

This web page descibes our adventure through the Philmont scout ranch in June, 2006. Philmont is where the troop goes to every two years. It's a very fun and enjoyable trip and has a lot of activities there so you'll never be bored. We learned to get hailed upon, stand in freezing water, hike up a 11,800 foot mountain, and learned to enjoy Philmont food. I got along with other Troops/Crews and made some new friends.

Mike Floyd has always encouraged us to go and he always succeded. The Troop has been going to Philmont for twelve years.

We had our laughs and shed some tears, but in the end we earned Trail names in Clear Creek.

Michael S.= Stinky Mike
Fred K.= Hippie
Gerrick H.= Constipation
Stephen S.= Chinese Mountian Yak (Stephen had a really great reputation on the trail)
Dan F.= Iron Head
Craig K.= Butterfingers (or bloody fingers)
Paul M. and Warren K. = the adults don't have trail names because they are on vacation
