Located in southeast
Georgia, the Ohoopee
watershed encompasses segments of 10 Georgia
counties. The largest city positioned inside the Ohoopee watershed is Vidalia.
Currently, there are 97 groundwater permits issued for agricultural use in the
watershed. In aggregate, these permits allow groundwater to be pumped at a rate
of 50,940 gallons per minute. Similarly, 422 surface water permits are
dispersed throughout the watershed. In total, these permits allow surface water
